Rated Rev: The Bills Ahead of Training Camp

To kick off the latest episode of Rated Rev, the Reverend had a few technical difficulties and decided to talk into the void before remembering to unmute his mic. Gotta love Rev. This time, he talks all things training camp, news around the NFL, and the Buffalo Bills running back room.
News Around the NFL (06:50)
As many of you already know, one of our favorite former Bills, Ryan Fitzpatrick, has joined Prime Video for their Thursday Night Football broadcast. Rev discusses this as well as (*that*) Mike Tomlin clip and his comments on Brian Flores on the Pivot Podcast.
But the biggest news came from Tyreek Hill’s podcast. I’m sure everyone remembers his comments comparing the accuracy of Tua and Mahomes. As Rev pointed out, it’s not uncommon for a player to hype up his QB. However, Hill revealed on his podcast that he received death threats and jokes about his dark complexion. Comments like these don’t belong on the internet, it’s way too far. You wouldn’t say it to someone’s face, so don’t put it on social media.
What does Motor in a contract year mean to the Buffalo Bills? (23:27)
Many people in Bills Mafia wanted Breece Hall. (Not me, Trish, because I’m smart, but many did.) For the time being, Devin Singletary is RB1. In his rookie season, just 12 games behind Frank Gore, he had 151 attempts for 775 yard 2 TDs. His second season is when doubt set in. He started all 16 games, recording 156 attempts for 687 yards and 2 TDs. Some of this can be attributed to the play calling as Daboll prioritized passing to rushing. Last season, he improved to the tune of 188 attempts for 870 yards and 7 TDs. Will Motor ever be a true RB1? More importantly, do the Bills even need it with their air game? It’ll be interesting to see what Ken Dorsey does.
Burning Questions before Training Camp (53:00)
Is Rev worried at all about the Bills being favored to win each matchup? No, he doesn’t care at all about win-loss stats, he just wants the Lombardi.
Will J-Po have a new contract by camp? This is the biggest question heading into the new season. Hiring Drew Rosenhaus was a very clear attempt at Poyer chasing that bag. There’s absolutely no doubt that Poyer deserves a new contract, but the question remains whether he will get it. And what does that mean for Micah Hyde? Other questions discussed were: Is it Gabe Davis SZN? Khalil Shakir SZN? Will Tremaine Edmunds shock everyone and earn a contract extension?
