Writer’s Club: Josh Allen’s Injury Resilience & State of the Buffalo Bills OL

In case you haven’t heard, there’s a new show in the Buffalo Fanatics multiverse: The BF Writer’s Club. On this show, we aim to introduce y’all to some of our fantastic writers and discuss their pieces (as well as any other Buffalo Bills related topics)!
On this episode, Rev and the Editors — Zach Vaughn (me) and Kevin Siracuse — were joined by the Thigh Doctor and Pete Rubinstein. Let’s dive in!
Josh Allen’s Injury Resilience with Thigh Doctor (16:01)
As we know, Josh Allen makes plays with his arm and his legs. He is not afraid to take a hit if it means extending the Bills’ possession or scoring a touchdown… And he’s taken his fair share of shots. However, Josh Allen has been able to emerge relatively unscathed from even the most gruesome of hits. How is this possible?
Allen has a hidden trait: injury resilience. What exactly does that mean? Doc gives us the lowdown. (Are we really surprised that the guy who beat math is taking on biology?)
However, he won’t be able to withstand injuries forever. The guys discussed some potential ways the Bills could limit those risky situations.
The State of the Buffalo Bills OL with Pete Rubinstein (43:20)
Speaking of protecting Josh Allen… The Buffalo Bills made some big moves on the offensive line this spring, retaining Ryan “Chicken Wing Rick” Bates and Ike Boettger, signing Pro Bowl guard Rodger Saffold, and locking up some solid depth options in David Quessenberry, Greg Van Roten, and Greg Mancz. (They also brought back “he who shall not be named” as camp fodder.)
Pete and the guys address a few questions here: Is the starting five solidified? Who will emerge as the backups? What should the Bills do with Cody Ford? And more.
The Rest of the Show
The guys also talked about the Bills training camp ticket saga (5:07) and introduced a couple new segments: ”Name That Bill” (10:19) and ”That’s Cold” (1:22:16).
