Week Nine NFL Gambling Bets (2021)

The week nine slate of NFL games is a good one. There will be some great games this week and some even better bets.
Spread Bets
Let’s start with some spread bets. My two favorites this week are the Bengals -3 and the Packers at a pick.
Bengals -3: The Bengals have a great offense and a surprisingly good defense. Their defense has two players in the top 15 in QB pressures this year. Also, with them playing a banged up Browns team, I can see them easily covering the spread for this game.
Packers at a pick: The Chiefs have the worst defense in the NFL this year. They can’t stop anyone in the passing game. Jordan Love will be in good hands for his first career start as the Packers should have Davante Adams back this week as well as Allen Lazard. The Packers offense has been great and should continue to roll this week.
ML Parlay
This just means that all the teams I am picking here have to win their games and this bet hits. The parlay is Cowboys over Broncos, Saints over Falcons, Ravens over Vikings, and Rams over Titans.
Cowboys over Broncos: The Cowboys offense is top five in the NFL this year and have been playing some solid defense. Trevon Diggs has been causing turnovers left and right, leading a top-ten defense. The Broncos have been struggling on offense and on defense they just lost Von Miller via trade.
Saints over Falcons: The Saints, even without Jameis Winston, still looked good on offense last week. And, like years past, they have a stellar defense. If they can continue to play good defense and get just enough out of their offense, they should be able to get another win here.
Ravens over Vikings: The well-rested Ravens are coming off a bye week and have been playing great – other than the loss to the Bengals. Their offense has looked good and Lamar Jackson has been putting up good numbers. Coming off that loss, I see a bounce back game from the Ravens here and expect they will beat the Vikings with no problem.
Rams over Titans: I picked the Rams mainly because of the Derrick Henry injury. With him hurt, I don’t see the Titans being able to do too much. They are very dependent on him. Also, Matt Stafford has been playing at an MVP caliber level and if that continues, this should be another win this week.
Teasers
Teasers are my personal favorite type of bet. A teaser is when you add six points to two different point spreads or over/under (O/U). An example, the Bills are -14.5 this week and the O/U is 48.5. To tease this, the Bills would be -8.5 and the over would be 42.5 or the under would be 54.5.
Jets +16.5 and the Ravens +.5: 16.5 points is just too many points for a team to lose by in primetime in my opinion and I have some recency bias because of the game Mike White had last week.
Patriots +2 and the Steelers -.5: The Patriots playing against Sam Darnold or PJ Walker? Give me the Patriots 10 times out of 10. The Panthers have been struggling as of late and haven’t been able to move the ball on offense. I expect this to continue this week.
For the Steelers, they play great defense and have a great pass rush. That, paired with the Bears poor offensive line, is going to be a problem. Justin Fields is going to have no time to throw the ball and the run game is also going to struggle. The Steelers win this game by at least three, covering the teased spread.
Prop Bets
If you like prop bets, I have a couple as well. The first is over 3.5 field goals in the Bears-Steelers game. Both offenses struggle to finish drives, but have some ability to move the ball up and down the field. This points toward a lot of field goals in this game. Finally, I like Davante Adams, Jonathan Taylor, and Alvin Kamara to score touchdowns this week.
Let me know what you think of my picks and share some of your own.
