Week 13 Injury Report: Buffalo Bills vs. New England Patriots

It’s Monday night and the AFC East lead is on the line. The weather is going to suck like Robert Kraft’s masseuse, but luckily the Buffalo Bills will have their front lines fully stocked. Each team will be missing a key secondary player though, as Bills CB Tre’ White is out for the season and the Patriots’ S Kyle Dugger is likely out with COVID. All things considered, this looks to be an instant classic.
The Patriots are entering this matchup mostly healthy as well. They have one player listed as questionable, backup LB Ronnie Perkins. As mentioned before, their leading tackler Kyle Dugger is expected to miss this game. Other players listed on the IR include LB Raekwon McMIllan, RB James White, DE Henry Anderson, and LB Josh Uche. It is important to note ILB Jamie Collins is expected to return from the IR this week.
QUESTIONABLE
OG Cody Ford
Cody exited the game briefly last week with a ‘bicep’ injury, but returned quickly. It is interesting he is listed as questionable this week, since he was a full participant in practice all week. The specifics are unknown, but Cody may potentially be playing with a torn biceps tendon. It is likely the portion of the bicep that attaches to the shoulder, as opposed to the elbow. Those shoulder tears do not need surgery, whereas, when they tear off the elbow, they are surgically repaired immediately.

Prediction: ACTIVE
FB Reggie Gilliam
Reggie left the game last week with an ‘ankle’ injury in the 4th quarter. He appears to get rolled upon during punt protection. The film is tough to decipher, but he likely has a low-grade medial ankle sprain. These can take 1-2 weeks to heal, and with the added rest coming off a Thursday game, he is very close to returning. He was a DNP to start the week, but practiced in limited fashion on Friday and Saturday. With the pending poor weather, and increased importance of the ground game, I am confident Reggie pushes through and suits up for the Bills.

Prediction: ACTIVE
DE Efe Obada
Efe popped up on the injury report Saturday with a ‘hip’ injury. The specifics are unknown, but he was able to practice in full. For that reason, I believe he is available for Buffalo.
Prediction: ACTIVE
ALSO LISTED
LB Matt Milano
Milano was listed for the ‘shoulder’ as well last week. Although he was limited early in the week, he practiced fully on Saturday. He was seen in a non-contact jersey, which makes me believe he is dealing with an AC joint sprain. This is not significant, and the team is just likely managing his contact reps during the week. He did not miss any snaps last week.

INJURED RESERVE
Designated to Return: OG Jon Feliciano
Feliciano was placed on the IR four weeks ago, but was designated to return this week. The team technically has 21 days to activate him. At this point, he has had five weeks of recovery time for a calf strain, and should be fully recovered. He is expected to return to the Buffalo Bills lineup.
Added: CB Tre’Davious White
Tre suffered an ACL tear last week. As reported prior, he will undergo season ending surgery. He will likely return inOctober or November 2022.
COVID LIST
Removed
Two of our biggest lineman, OT Spencer Brown and DT Star Lotulelei, have returned from the COVID list this week. It appears Star is having a little more difficulty with his recovery, but both will be active for the Buffalo Bills this week. I would expect Spencer Brown to play in full, and Star to have a limited snap count.
Added
Unvaccinated players are out a minimum of 10 days, while vaccinated players can return as soon as they have two negative tests 24 hours apart.
- OT Tommy Doyle was placed on 11/30/21
