It’s been a week and a half since the Bills last played a game. The season is over. It was a very good 2019 season for the Bills who accomplished a lot this year. A postseason berth, a top-five defense and a quarterback that is taking steps in the right direction. However, everyone now must turn their focus to the offseason.
Who will the Bills resign? Will they make a splash signing like Yannick Ngakoue? Will they draft a wide receiver in the first round? These are all questions, comments, and concerns that Bills fans have probably been thinking over the past few days. Everyone wants the Bills to get “their guy” and everyone had differing opinions on who would be a good fit with the Bills.
Let’s not forget something going into this offseason. The message that Sean McDermott and Brandon Beane have preached since they were hired has been simple. Trust the process. So far, their “process” has delivered, and growth has been noticed. Now in year four, which is the year that they have highlighted towards since 2017, is finally here. This week’s Thursday Thought: Trust the process.
Brandon Beane has proven over and over again that he is one of the better general managers in the NFL. He’s made plenty of good decisions when it comes to building this team. He is an NFL general manager, for a reason.
I mean this with no disrespect towards any Bills fans out there, because all we want is for our team to be successful. Whatever happens, this offseason is what ultimately is the right move for the Bills. Do not get too mad when the Bills don’t sign or draft a player that you wanted, because we don’t know s**t compared to the Bills front office.
For example, remember how mad BillsMafia was after the Bills took Josh Allen in the 2018 draft? We all wanted Josh Rosen instead and convinced ourselves throughout the pre-draft process that Allen was going to be a guaranteed bust. Two years later and it’s safe to say that Brandon Beane made the correct decision in drafting Allen over Rosen.
I guess what I’m trying to say is that we as fans should just be open to anyone the Bills bring in. That we need to trust this front office to get the job done. That our opinion, although we believe it strongly, maybe wrong when it comes to this offseason. This front office has a plan and they are executing it very well, so why should we lose faith that the plan won’t continue to produce good results?
Trust the process BillsMafia, because the Bills are on the verge of taking the AFC East over. So, let’s just sit back, and let Brandon Beane and his staff do what they do, build a winning team.
