Buffalo Bills
Rico Report: Upgraded WR Room

On the latest episode of The Rico Report, our host touched on plenty of news from around the NFL. Most importantly, he discussed the latest Buffalo Bills signing of WR Tavon Austin and how this improved wide receiver room can get the Bills over the top. From James Cook to Jamison Crowder, this offense is loaded. Let’s get into it.
An Upgraded WR Room
The newest Buffalo Bill, Tavon Austin (12:20), visited One Bills Live Tuesday for an emotional segment on his career so far. In addition to being a wide receiver, Austin is slated for a shot at both punt returner and kick returner this year (although he said on OBL he prefers returning punts). Versatile and ready to compete, can he steal a spot? Currently, the jobs are Isaiah McKenzie’s and Marquez Stevenson’s to lose, but Austin is right behind them… and he’s hungry. Buffalo already has depth and versatility at the wide receiver position. If Austin makes the 53-man roster, it will be because he worked extremely hard in camp. The Bills receiver room is now more diverse in skillsets than it has ever been.

Jamison Crowder is a great example of that fact (26:32). The expected successor to a majority of Cole Beasley’s snaps out of the slot, Crowder is yet another quality addition to this wide receiver room. He’s younger than Beasley and brings a more athletic skillset than we’ve seen at the position for some time. His most important asset will be his ability to produce after the catch. Having made a career out of the slot with a bevy of illegitimate passers throwing the rock his way, Crowder can give the Bills those urgent yards post-reception that they so desperately need.
Rico also touched on some news from around the NFL (2:30) and took some questions from the audience (50:00). For all of that, check out the latest episode of The Rico Report on the Buffalo Fanatics YouTube channel.
