Rico Recap: Von Miller Joins The Buffalo Bills And More

It was a busy couple of days for the Buffalo Bills. Rico takes us through the moves, and occasional lack of moves, from the first two day of the new league year. Unsurprisingly, he spends plenty of time on the Von Miller deal, so let’s get into it.
Von Miller’s Six-Year Deal (0:40)
It’s true. Miller is joining the Buffalo Bills on a six-year, $120M deal. His impact is expected to be immense for one of the team’s few weak links. One of the best defensive players of the past decade, he can get Buffalo over the top once again. Additionally, Von Miller’s veteran presence can do some good for the wealth of young talent on the roster. O.J. Howard Joins Buffalo Short-Term (54:30)
With Brady’s return to the league, former franchise target Rob Gronkowski is on a collision course with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That opened the door for O.J. Howard, and the Buffalo Bills jumped on him. He’s signed a one-year deal worth roughly $3.5M, and Buffalo gets a huge boost at the position. They’re finally ready to run 12-personnel, a position grouping they ran a league-low 8% in 2021.
Howards brings a lot to the table, as a versatile talent in every role his position plays. We could expect plenty from Howard on the field, but don’t rule the Buffalo Bills out of drafting a young prospect to sit behind the duo of Knox and Howard this season.
Rico goes into these topics and more, from the signings of Tim Settle and DaQuan Jones for our defensive line to the loss of Harrison Phillips. He discusses the team’s remaining needs, talks draft philosophy, and gets into it with the listeners on this massive show. Von Miller is just one part of a huge Buffalo Bills offseason
