Strengths: – Marquise Brown has speed that will terrify opposing team’s secondary’s as he can take the lid off of them anytime he wants – Teams will give him cushion to compensate for his speed and he will react by doing short and underneath routes and making them – Has an excellent ability to toe tap on the sideline to make the impossible catch. – Is extremely elusive even after making the catch as he does not gear down once he makes the reception |
Weaknesses: – Marquise Brown does not provide a return dynamic as he never did it in college once – Knowledge of the route tree is limited at best – Frame is well below the prototypical size, even at his height – Currently has a Lisfranc fracture, which is where one of the bones in your foot are displaced and this could be a lingering issue throughout his career – Brown will not win the contested 50-50 ball, nor does he have the skill to battle for the underthrown balls as well |
Overall: Marquise Brown is a highlight machine who will instantly stretch any defense he encounters when on the field due to his blazing over the top speed. Earned the nickname of “Hollywood” because of where he’s originally from in Florida. Is cousins with Oakland Raiders wide receiver Antonio Brown. Chose Oklahoma because of their wide open passing attack offense, and helped Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray win back to back Heisman Trophies for the Sooners in Norman. One can ask, is he a homerun threat at the next level as a result, of his sheer speed? The jury might be out due to the likelihood of a re-injury. |
