Kaiir Elam flirted with being a top 10 selection entering his last collegiate season. However, a knee injury caused him to miss three games and his stock dropped.

Should there be concern with Elam’s injury? Does he have additional baggage?

The Injury

The details are murky. Kaiir was injured during their matchup with Alabama, but he finished it. Then he ended up missing the next three games. It was reported to be a knee sprain, and he dealt with it for most of the season.

The actual injury is unknown, but we do know what to generally expect from sprains. Most reports do not indicate it affected the knee, but there is one source that reported it was a right knee injury. However, on this clip, it appears it could have easily been Elam’s left knee when it jammed into the turf.

Thigh Doctor on Twitter: “Kaiir Elam only injury. Looks to get a small hyper extension on left leg. Finished game. Likely post capsule sprain, missed next 3 games. Finished season. Looked fine at combine, he’s clean 🧽 #BillsMafia @BfloFanatics pic.twitter.com/r3Mte1sySe / Twitter”

If the clip holds true, it looks like a mild hyperextension injury on his left knee. Unfortunately, these can carry healing timelines of 2-6 week, based on severity. Although it may have created limitations during his season, Elam should be well past his injury at this point.

Kaiir Elam looked fantastic throughout the combine process. There should be no concern over his medical history.

I’d love to see his bare leg
