Buffalo Bills
Josh Allen: Madden 24 Cover Athlete

No member of the Buffalo Bills has ever graced the cover of the NFL’s annual video game, despite 41 versions being released since 1988. That changes this year. There had been rumours of Josh Allen likely donning the cover in 2022, until the passing of the game’s creator, John Madden. Obviously, Madden himself had to be the choice. If Josh was the plan or not, we may never know. We do know this: Josh Allen is your Madden 24 cover athlete.
The news was first reported by your very own Buffalo Fanatics, all the way back on May 31st.
The announcement was initially met with speculation, but it’s been made official.
Recent cover athletes include Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes, who each got two covers, as well as Lamar Jackson, Antonio Brown, Rob Gronkowski, Odell Beckham Jr, and many more.
Josh Allen’s ascent to the league’s heights is now cemented; Madden doesn’t put just anyone on their cover. Over the last three years, Allen has become one of the most consistently impressive players in the NFL, and his stats support that.
Josh Allen (Incl. Post.) | Pass Yards | Rush Yards | Total TDs |
---|---|---|---|
2020 | 5361 | 566 | 51 |
2021 | 5044 | 897 | 51 |
2022 | 4899 | 808 | 46 |
To say he’s been electric would be an understatement, and his offense has dominated the NFL for three seasons. It’s only natural that he’d be the cover athlete eventually. After three years with the Buffalo Bills amongst the league’s elite, it was time.

For the first time ever, Bills fans can go out and buy the game knowing that they’re finally the home team. Good luck, happy gaming, and Go Bills.
