Strengths: – Has been on the Sooners’ starting offensive line since his freshman year – Versatile: started at right tackle and transitioned to right guard his sophomore year – Good mix of length and athleticism – Good agility – Very good grip strength – Mentally smart – Nasty player overall – 2018 Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year |
Weaknesses: – Poor core strength and body control – Poor synchronization of hands in feet – Lunges often – Sloppy footwork – Occasionally lets his emotions get the best of him – Not ideal in size or height to play outside in the NFL |
Overall: Samia (pronounced suh-MEE-uh) has been a reliable offensive lineman for the Sooners since his freshman year in 2015 and was part of a team that has played in big-time games. Samia was a Senior Bowl participant and performed well, which improved his draft stock. Samia has the chance to be a solid starting guard in the NFL as long as he works on a few issues that can surely be fixed by an NFL offensive line coach. |
