This week on The Breaking Tables Podcast, Brian and the crew bid a not so fond farewell to J.J. Watt. Watt signed a two year contract in Arizona yesterday that includes a $15.5 million average NFL salary and $23 million dollars in guarantees.
According to Muki Hawkins of WUFO sports, the decision for Watt came down to Arizona and Buffalo, with Watt choosing the money Arizona was offering. Meanwhile, John Gambadoro of AZ Sports 98.7FM Phoenix reported that the Cardinals offer was NOT the highest Watt received. Per the report, the Browns and Colts each offered more money for Watt’s services, while Tennessee put in a similar bid. The amount Buffalo offered was not disclosed.
We wish J.J. Watt nothing but the best on his semi-retirement to Scottsdale and hope he enjoys their golf courses in January when he will have a lot of free time on his hands.
