Round One: Wyatt Davis, OG – Ohio State

Round Two: Chazz Surratt, LB – North Carolina

Round Three: Hamsah Nasirildeen, S – Florida State

With the 93rd pick in the 2021 Buffalo Fanatics mock draft, I chose Hamsah Nasirildeen from Florida State. I was stoked to see him fall to me in the 3rd round. This kid is a stud. I know a fellow BF contributor took Nasirildeen in the 2nd round, so I was shocked to see him fall in this mock draft (via The Draft Network)!

There were many rumblings last year around the 2020 draft that the Bills were very interested in S Kyle Duggar, to fill in as a “Buffalo Nickel” safety/linebacker hybrid. Well, Nasirildeen can do that, and probably even better. He’s 22 years old, 6’4 and 220 lbs. This kid is fast, can hit, and can cover. Nasirildeen is the missing piece on this defense.

Think of him playing in a Jamal Adams type role, with better coverage skills but not as good a pass rusher. The Bills defense was torched in both games against Kansas City by tight end Travis Kelce because they had no one to cover him. Enter Nasirildeen. With how pass happy the league has become, it’s vital to have multiple guys in the back seven who can cover.

Unfortunately, he did suffer a torn ACL in 2019 and missed the majority of the season in 2020. If he had played, I believe he’d be a first rounder. I’m ready to purchase tickets to the 2021 AFC Championship in Orchard Park just thinking about Surratt and Nasirildeen in Buffalo’s defense.
