Buffalo Bills
Buffalo Fanatics Mock Draft 3.0 Round 3

Pete Rubinstein
Round One: Jalen Mayfield, OT – Michigan
Round Two: Chazz Surratt, LB – North Carolina
Round Three: Tyler Shelvin, DT – LSU
As the mock drafts move on, nothing has changed for my first two selections. Jalen Mayfield and Chazz Surratt are great value picks at #30 and #62. As both of their draft stocks continue to climb, players like Teven Jenkins from Oklahoma State, Jabril Cox from LSU, and Buffalo Fanatics-favorite Hamsah Nasirildeen are also valid options.
With my next pick at #93, I have the Bills taking Tyler Shelvin out of LSU, another Fanatics-favorite. The 2019 National Champion has been a dominant force on Coach O’s defensive unit for the past two seasons. Shelvin has the perfect frame and size to perform well as a one-technique defensive tackle in Leslie Frazier’s 4-3 defense. He’s an excellent run defender who draws double teams on almost every play, something the Bills’ defensive unit clearly lacked last season.
The Louisiana native won’t wow us with his stats, but he will be one of the best at what he does out on the field. Buffalo needs that guy who can take up blocks on run defense so the play-makers (Jerry Hughes, Tremaine Edmunds, Ed Oliver, and maybe J.J. Watt) can make plays. Shelvin’s that guy. How does that work? Go back and watch what Vita Vea did to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl.
Shelvin is stout, physical, and everything we’d want for the Bills. And at pick #93, he could be the steal of the draft that no one will be talking about.
