Buffalo Bills: Things We Know This Week

Carlos Basham prefers to be called “BOOGIE.” Leslie Frazier, the defensive coordinator for Basham’s first two NFL seasons with the Buffalo Bills, initially did not do “nicknames.”
“I can remember my first sack of the season against L.A. He called me Boogie then. He’s like, ‘I’m gonna call you Boogie when you make a big play.’” — Carlos Basham
Frazier has consistently wanted the big man, Basham, to play BIGGER.
“Basham needs to show he can punch someone in the mouth.” — Leslie Frazier
Basham was a second-round-draft pick (61st overall) out of Wake Forest after playing high school ball at Northside in Roanoke, Virginia.
“Have you heard about the new dance craze? Listen to us, I’m sure you’ll be amazed. Big fun to be had by everyone. It’s up to you, it surely can be done. Young and old are doing it, I’m told. Just one try and you too will be sold. It’s called ‘Le Freak’, they’re doing it night and day. Allow us, we’ll show you the way. Ah, freak out!” — CHIC
Basham acquired the nickname “Boogie” as a youth due to his desire to dance. Freak -Out!
Furthermore, Boogie Basham has a cousin, Tarell Basham, playing defensive end in the NFL for the Cincinnati Bengals. He was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the third round in 2017. Tarell also spent time playing in New Jersey for the Jets, in Texas for the Cowboys and in Tennessee for the Titans. Might I suggest investing in U-Haul stocks?
As for Boogie, he played the best game of his NFL career last season against the Rams. He recorded a sack and sealed the Bills’ victory with an interception.
