Buffalo Bills: Things We Know This Week
“The best free agents you sign are your own.” – Marv Levy
Tremaine Edmunds was indeed a salary cap casualty.
“In the NBA, you’re never immune to rumors and trade rumors and free agency stuff.” –Stephen Curry
The Chicago Bears handed the youthful linebacker Edmunds $50 million guaranteed as part his four-year, $72 million ludicrous service agreement.
“Every player looks forward to free agency.” – Kirk Cousins
The common response is “Well the Buffalo Bills secured the services of Jorden Poyer.”
“The hardest thing about free agency is sometimes you want it right away but you have to wait and see see what happens.” – Emmanuel Sanders
Even as Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer become longer in the tooth, they still remain a top safety tandem in the NFL.
“It’s really hard. And it’s harder today because of the salary cap. It starts in September at training camp – getting every guy on the same page, being as mentally and physically as focused as you can be. Then in April and May, you basically spend eight weeks practicing, watching video and playing games. That’s your life.” – Wayne Gretzky
Brandon Beane has restructured the contracts for edge rusher Von Miller, linebacker Matt Milano, running back Nyheim Hines, wide receiver Stefon Diggs, and quarterback Josh Allen. There’s no “I” in TEAM.
“The NFL draft is a huge night for college players. That’s the night they start being paid over the table.” – Jay Leno
Free agency will continue as the next big date on the calendar is the NFL Draft on April 27th in Kansas City.
