Buffalo Bills: Things We Know This Week

“Success isn’t owned. It’s leased and rent is due every day.” – J.J. Watt

Legal-Contract-Negotiating-Window sounds so much less shifty than Legal-Tampering-Day. Likewise, NFL’s-Free-Agency-Negotiating-Period comes off with some audible integrity.

“It’s not wanting to win that makes you a winner. It’s refusing to fail.”Peyton Manning

The 2023 season will have the Buffalo Bills facing 10 2022 playoff teams. Statistically, that will make the Bills’ schedule the seventh-toughest in the NFL.

“We gotta hit on draft picks, we gotta find low-cost free agents that can find roles, whether it’s key backup, a solid starter, whatever it is. And so, it’ll be on me and our scouting staff to make the right moves.” – Brandon Beane

Dealing with Miami twice is challenging. The New Jersey Jets will not make things any easier these days.

“I think that they clearly need an upgrade on their offensive line. Now whether that’s with people they have in the building who have to play better, or whether they feel that they have to go out and get people… I think that this team needs an upgrade with their offensive line and that that has to be a meaningful priority as they go to this offseason.”Greg Cosell

Add both Super Bowl teams, the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles, and this schedule looks quite daunting. Oh yeah, the Cincinnati Bengals are on tap this season. It resembles flipping that difficulty switch on your Atari 2600 to “DIFFICULT”. Oh my.

“Have you played a game from ATARI? Have you played ATARI today?”

Keep in mind, one of these games will require crossing the pond to the United Kingdom. It will be a home game for the Bills, so remember to MIND-THE-GAP when in queue to ride the tube! Say that five times fast. I digress.

“And I knew that day. I was going to stay right where I am.
On the sunny side of the street.”
The Pogues

I am semi-retired leaving my enjoyable 24 year management career due to multiple health issues. My dad retired from The Buffalo News after 49 years. I have been an avid fan for quite some time. Got that Marv Levy Fight Song In My Head for absolutely no reason.
