Buffalo Bills: Things We Know This Week

“When the bough breaks the cradle will fall, And down will come baby, cradle and all.”Rock-a-bye-baby

How many of you residing in Bills Country felt that magnitude 3.8 earthquake Monday morning?

“Toto, I’ve got a feeling we’re not in Kansas anymore.”Dorothy

It was not a Chinese Spy Balloon slamming into the side of your crib. It certainly was not the Mighty Taco your family had for dinner last night.

“Long way down. I don’t think I’ll make it on my own. Long way down.
I don’t want to live in here alone. Long way down. I don’t think I’ll make it on my own.
I never put you down
, never pushed you away. Take another piece of me. Give my mind a new disease. And the black and white world never fades to grey.”The Goo Goo Dolls

The Epicenter of the temblor was in West Seneca, New York. In my dream world, it was the roar of the crowd in Glendale, Arizona, as the Buffalo Bills defeat the Philadelphia Eagles at Super Bowl 57. Dream On.

“Feel the fever coming. You’re shaking and twitching. You can scratch all over. But that won’t stop you itching. Can you feel a little love? Can you feel a little love? Dream on, dream on.”Depeche Mode

Unlike The Buffalo Bills, The Kansas City Chiefs were able to take advantage of the three missing main ingredients of the banged up Cincinnati Bengals offensive line. KC sacked Joe Burrow three times in the AFC Championship games first eight minutes. They successfully brought him down two more times. Poor Joe.

Burrow was only sacked once behind the same offensive line one week earlier in Orchard Park. The Bills only hit the Bengals quarterback three times. KC hit him a dozen or more times in addition to the five sacks.

Things we know about the Buffalo Bills this week:

Several mock drafts have the Bills selecting running back Bijan Robinson out of Texas at the 27th overall pick. (Or is it the 28th pick?) This is a very talented prospect with HUGE upside. ***BREAKING NEWS… He is not a number two wide receiver. ***

The 2023 NFL salary cap will increase from $208.2 million to $224.8 million. This would place the Bills currently at approximately $20 million over said cap.

The Buffalo Bills will need to re-sign back-up quarterback Case Keenum, sign his replacement or draft a future relief QB for Josh Allen.

The Bills have added another former Panther to their defensive coaching staff… Al Holcomb.

I am semi-retired leaving my enjoyable 24 year management career due to multiple health issues. My dad retired from The Buffalo News after 49 years. I have been an avid fan for quite some time. Got that Marv Levy Fight Song In My Head for absolutely no reason.
