Buffalo Bills: Things We Know This Week
RIP Hurley, My Sweet loyal Dog (2014-2022).
“When the dog bites, when the bee stings, when I’m feeling sad. I simply remember my favorite things. And then I don’t feel so bad.” – Julie Andrews
Tyler Bass and teammates fabricating snow angels. Bills Mafia wearing shirts (and not), flexing, singing, chanting and shouting. Snowballs flying. Santa Claus look-alikes throughout. “Let-It-Snow” boisterous for all to hear. Snow better late than never. The fish officially squished. These are a few of my favorite things.
“Snowflakes are one of natures most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together.” – Vesta M. Kelly
The Buffalo Bills defeated the Miami Dolphins, clinching a playoff berth for the fourth consecutive year. How does five playoff appearances in six years sound?
“It was a great time to grow up in Chicago. It was the mid-‘80s, and we had the ‘85 Bears and the Michael Jordan era.” – Bailey Chase
The Bills can secure the AFC East with a win in the Windy-City or a Miami loss against Green Bay.
“The most important thing is win enough games to get into the playoffs. Then, once you get into the playoffs, win.” – Joe Flacco
The Bills are still the top seed in the AFC at 11-3. How does “the road to the Super Bowl going through Orchard Park” sound? A bye week certainly is intriguing. Time will tell.
“I’ll do whatever it takes to win games, whether it’s sitting on a bench, waving a towel, handing a cup of water to a teammate, or hitting the game-winning shot.” – Kobe Bryant
Things we know about the Buffalo Bills this week:
Josh Allen threw for four touchdowns against Miami. He finished the game with 304 yards passing and 77 yards rushing. He also converted a two-point-conversion on the ground… well in the air… uh… on the ground. Just give Josh a red cape.
Josh Allen joins Michael Vick and Russell Wilson as the only quarterbacks to throw for 300+ yards and rush for 75+ yards in three games. Very Nice.
Josh Allen joins great company, tying Dan Marino for the most total touchdowns in a player’s first five NFL seasons (171). Not too shabby.
For the 10th time in his career, Josh Allen has been named AFC Offensive Player of the Week. This is his fourth time claiming this award against the Miami Dolphins. (He has 27 career passing TDs against Miami.)
Cole Beasley caught a nine yard pass from Josh Allen. Just another Saturday night at the office. Welcome back Cole.
Time flies. I traveled to Chicago the last time the Bills played at Soldier Field, which was in September of 2014. The Bears have played at Soldier Field since 1971, even though Soldier Field was constructed in 1924. Prior to that, they played 50 years at Wrigley Field. The Bills squeaked out that win with E.J. Manuel behind center. Doug Marrone was the head coach at the time, if that puts things into perspective. I was sporting a CJ Spiller jersey for this matchup. What a sight. Dressed for success.
