Buffalo Bills: Things We Know This Week
“Find a happy place, find a happy place.” – Lloyd Christmas
Were you curled up in the fetal position sucking on your thumb in a public restroom? Bolstering “find a happy place” in between your tears? I found myself in a similar position after the New Jersey Jets defeated the Buffalo Bills. This reminded me of where I was after the Jacksonville game one season ago. That queasy feeling in the pit of your breadbasket. Yuck.
“What you should do is speak so loudly that no one will hear what you say.” – Marv Levy
Five sacks and two interceptions made Josh Allen look human. Mere mortal. Imagine that? That is why we play the games, right? ANY GIVEN SUNDAY!
“On any given Sunday you’re gonna win or you’re gonna lose. The point is – can you win or lose like a man?” – Tony D’Amato
It can feel like weeks after a loss before they play another game.
“Everybody already ‘is’ laughing at us. We haven’t won a game since nineteen-ninety-four.” – Lyle Robideaux (Waterboy)
The Bills have handled everything and everyone the NFL threw at them so far. EXCEPT AFC EAST TEAMS! Buffalo better plan on winning some divisional games if they want home field advantage come January.
“As long as we have faith in our own cause and an unconquerable will to win, victory will not be denied us.” – Winston Churchill
Buffalo prepares for the 7-1 Minnesota Vikings to visit Orchard Park. Buffalo is tied for the number one seed in the conference with Kansas City. The Bills win the tiebreaker by beating KC head-to-head.
“I played seven years in Minnesota and I’m looking forward to a better, greater seven years down in Miami. I’m back home. It’s great.” – Daunte Culpepper
Much more of a daunting task for Daunte.
“It’s tough to win in this league when you’re playing a good team and your quarterback plays like s–t. I made some bad decisions tonight, really cost our team.” – Josh Allen
Josh made some amazing runs, including two scores.
“We still got a great group of guys in there. We’re gonna get Tre’Davious White back and I’m excited. It was good medicine and just gotta reload and get ready for a good Vikings team.” –Von Miller
This game was a team effort in losing. The offense seemed as if Stefon Diggs was the only weapon, except for Allen putting on a running clinic. He outrushed all of the Bills the rushers combined.
“All right, one period left. One period away from winning it all or losing to these miserable hackers with their sh*t-eating grins and their Saturday night wrestling tactics. One period away from remembering something for the rest of your life or something you wanna forget.” – Murray Chadwick
“One thing I know about Josh, and as you can see what kind of player he is, he leads us the best way he knows how. He makes a lot of plays out there. So, rallying behind him at a time like this – I mean, turnovers are gonna happen. You hate ‘em, but shit does happen.” – Stefon Diggs
The Buffalo Bills defense was missing several key players once again. They played their tails off, holding the Jets to 20 points. This should have been enough to win. The defense could afford to improve their gap integrity. They also could button up their tackling.
“The game of life is a lot like football. You have to tackle your problems, block your fears, and score your points when you get the opportunity.” – Lewis Grizzard
The once seemingly easier part of the Bills schedule is looking much more challenging.
