Buffalo Bills: Things We Know This Week

“ARE YOU KIDDING ME? HOLY MACKEREL!”John Murphy

If you want to make the point that the Pittsburgh Steelers left six points on the table with two missed kicks, then please finish your take. The Bills fumbled at the goal line and had an interception in the end zone. The Buffalo Bills were one-for-four in the red zone. We shall proceed with reality as the score was 38-3 and not 52-9. Matters Not!

“Have a take. Don’t suck.”Jim Rome

Pin the Bills deep on the opening kickoff? No worries. Josh Allen to Gabe Davis for 98 yards. Touchdown!!

The Bills were extremely close to a second 98-yard touchdown, had it not been for a great defensive play by one Levi Wallace. Remember him?

“The harder you WORK, the harder it is to SURRENDER” – Marv Levy

What-IFs mean nothing. So the Buffalo Bills could have won 59-9 as opposed to 38-3. The same could be said for the 4-1 record could easily be 5-0. Matters not.

“A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.” Christopher Reeve

It was a remarkable day as a Bills fan. I enjoyed the broadcast. I did not come close to vomiting in my mouth as Tony Romo and Jim Nantz called the game, as opposed to the other broadcasting teams we have had to stomach this season.

“They may not know how good they are yet.”Chris Berman

Our condolences to Jim Nantz and his family as he lost his mother last week. RIP.

“Overpower. Overtake. Overcome.”Serena Williams

A thought that does make me sick to my stomach is one from 2018, when some people had Josh Allen going to the Cleveland Browns first overall. Tony Romo was the instigator who brought that fact up.

“I want to be the guy that turns around the Cleveland Browns. The guy that does that is going to be immortalized in Cleveland forever.” – Josh Allen

Ouch. We could be sitting here talking about replacing Josh Rosen like we did Todd Collins, J.P. Losman, and Trent Edwards. Heck, we might have already drafted his replacement like the Jets did replacing Sam Darnold with Zach Wilson. All I have to say is… Thank You McBeane.

“You’re trying to look at the teams that are in front of you as we get closer especially if this player is seven, eight picks away. You’re going ‘alright what’s the world, what’s the media, what’s the people following this team saying they’re gonna take and then what’s the odds, what’s their depth at this position?’ Then you start assessing – ok, this team is two in front of us and this is a big need for them, should we try and jump in front of them? How bad do we want this guy? How much do we think he’s gonna help us not only this year… It’s short term and long term.”Brandon Beane

Khalil Shakir and James Cook put the NFL on notice that they can play. Isaiah Hodgins has finally got a chance to play and took advantage of the opportunity.

“You just work at it. You just keep grinding away, keep trying to get better, and if you got the ability, one day you have a chance.”Tony Romo

Things we know about the Buffalo Bills this week

Gabe Davis became the third player in Bills history to record multiple 60+ yard touchdowns in a game. He took a 98 and 62 yard all of the way for scores. His ankle no longer appeared to be limiting his performance. Ya think?

Josh Allen has been nominated for the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week… This is the second time in three weeks.

The Buffalo Bills have re-signed DT Brandin Bryant to the 53-man roster.

Up next: The Bills head to the largest municipality in the state of Missouri to take on the Chiefs in the rematch from last season’s wild playoff game.

I am semi-retired leaving my enjoyable 24 year management career due to multiple health issues. My dad retired from The Buffalo News after 49 years. I have been an avid fan for quite some time. Got that Marv Levy Fight Song In My Head for absolutely no reason.
