Buffalo Bills: Things We Know This Week

“Where, Oh Where Has My Underdog Gone?”
Do you appreciate being the Underdog that sneaks up on everyone? Do you find delight flying below the radar? How about sneaking up on the AFC rivals as the humble Shoeshine boy? If you answered yes, this certainly isn’t your Buffalo Bills team.
“You were born to be hockey players — every one of you, and you were meant to be here tonight. This is your time. Their time is done. It’s over. I’m sick and tired of hearing about what a great hockey team the Soviets have. Screw ‘em. This is your time. Now go out there and take it!” – HERB BROOKS
The Bills were heavy Super Bowl favorites prior to the outset of the season. Blowing out the Super Bowl champions in L.A. on NFL opening night put a lid on being any kind of an under dog.
“I’m at my best when people are depending on me. If it’s just on me and I don’t have nothing to do, I’m going to be lazy. On the football field, it’s every single day, every play, knowing that people are depending on me to make my play. That helps me elevate my game to another level.” –VON MILLER
Maybe the oddsmakers have been right all along.
We all currently have high expectations. Hope is always a big part of being a fan. During the drought, at times, the off-season being 0-0 was the most exciting time with acquisitions they made. The Drew Bledsoe trade. London Fletcher joining the Bills in 2002. The Takeo Spike signing in 2003. Lawyer Milloy and Sam Adams’ arrivals turned some heads. Mario Williams huge contract in 2012. The surprise trade in 2015 for LeSean McCoy. Signing these talents actually gave us hope, even throughout the “Great Draught”. A roster with very little talent and zero depth were sometimes decorated by signings such as Terrell Owens.
“Buffalo has a great fan base, they go crazy man.” – LeSean McCoy
Signings Brandon Beane makes now are similar to past acquisitions such as James Lofton, Kenny Davis, John Davis, Bryce Paup, Ted Washington, or Sam Gash. (Thank You Bill Polian and John Butler.) A great team already just adding to the tool box.
“I was raised in a different era: Loose lips sink ships. I’ve learned to be quiet about (the draft process). I try not to talk about it.” – Bill Polian
Things we know about the Buffalo Bills this week:
Josh Allen currently holds the lead for most jersey sales since the beginning of training camp. Nice.
Josh Allen became the only NFL quarterback dating back to 1950 to produce three career games of over 250 passing yards, 3 passing touchdowns, 50 or more rushing yards, and a rushing Touchdown. Very Nice.
The Bills turned the ball over four times on the road and still blew out the Rams. Jordan Poyer, Dane Jackson, and Boogie Basham each picked off Mathew Stafford.
Shouting brought-to-you-by: the Buffalo Bills.
