NFL Power Rankings projections have the Bills placing as high as number two next season up to and including number four. The Bills built this team following a process in stages over the years where McBeane dynamic duo have been the decision-makers. So, obviously, the majority of the experts participating in forecasting the rankings by no means feel the Bills were a One-Hit-Wonder. This team should be a competitor for many seasons as long as they can get creative with salary cap issues.
Guy: I’m sorry. I’m really sorry, Mr. White. Mr. White: Well, don’t worry. No one’s going to prison, son. It’s a very common tale. Guy: Well, maybe for you, but I was in a band. We still have a hit record. Mr. White: Yes, you do. The one-hit Wonders. A very common tale.—(That Thing You Do)

OK. Not that kind of a One Hit Wonder. I was referencing a FLASH-IN-THE-PAN season in the world of sports. Depew’s very own Don Majkowski was the quarterback of such a team. In 1989, the Green Bay Packers had a surprisingly brilliant 10-6 season. They were 4-12 in 1988 and 6-10 in 1990.
Another One Hit Wonder Season was quarterbacked by Chad Pennington. The New York Jets? Nope. The Miami Dolphins’ 2008 season with 11 victories. The Fish were a smelly 1-15 in 2007 and dropped to 7-9 in 2009. I dare to say this team was not following and process.
The 1998 Atlanta Falcons finished 14-2 with Chris Chandler behind center. They just so happened to have finished 7-9 in 1997 and 5-11 to finish off the 20th Century.
Stealing shamelessly from early film studios’ silent films….I digress……….
“In the off-season, I train twice a day, five times a week with my trainer. Then, there’s always massages and neuromuscular therapy worked in there as well on different days.” – J.J. Watt
JJ. Watt has proclaimed that free agency is wild. The Bills are on a shortlist of teams possibly being a landing spot for Watt who received the NFL Defensive Player Of The Year award three times in his first five seasons.
“Success isn’t owned. It’s leased and rent is due every day.” – J.J. Watt
The five-time All-Pro prioritizes winning a Super Bowl. ESPN has reported his decision will be based on three Key Performance Indicators of those pursuing teams:
2. Supporting personnel.
“I know that I have probably an eight- to 10-year window in this league, and if I want to be what I say I want to be, then I have to commit myself 100 percent.” – J.J. Watt
The Cleveland Browns are high on the list as a landing spot for the star player. They have the money available to afford him. They have built a nice supporting cast of players making the Browns intriguing. We just don’t know his evaluation of Baker Mayfield‘s status of being a potential championship quarterback.
“Some people chase money. Some people chase fame. Some chase greatness, and that’s what I’m trying to do.” – J.J. Watt
Keep in mind that the Pro-Bowl MVP has two younger brothers who are teammates for the Pittsburgh Steelers. I am not certain if his desire to unite with the family has any impact on his three previously mentioned stipulations. Were all three “MUST HAVES” or simply “Preferred”? When the money and offers start being discussed as a reality, we will find out exactly what qualifies as a deal-breaker.
“A sack is way better than any nightclub. A touchdown is way better than any bar experience I’ve ever had.” – J.J. Watt
Obviously Mr. Watt never had the opportunity to frequent the dance floor at Jim Kelly’s NETWORK or have some wings at Sports City Grill.

- Boise State Avery Williams is being compared to Steve Tasker as far as his talent and passion for playing Special Teams. Is he a player Brandon Beane would look at in the draft? And there is no one you can use now. (Only time will tell) One thing is sure, That time will tell.

And to come together especially during this trying time, to me that’s the most remarkable part of everything that happened for the team this year.”
“Knowing is half the battle. GI Jooooooe”
