The Bills glory years were not only about Kelly to Hall of Famers Andre Reed, James Lofton, and Thurman Thomas. Many other players stepped up as heroes at different times including Frank Reich, Keith McKeller, Larry Kinnebrew, Butch Rolle, Pete Metzelaars, Carwell Gardner, Ken Davis, Don Smith, and many others.
This current Buffalo team has a 3-0 record for the 11th time in franchise history and in back to back seasons for the first time since those early 90’s Almost-A-Dynasty teams. This team is accumulating a list of heroes showing up on the scoring statistics: Tyler Bass, John Brown, Tyler Kroft, Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs, Lee Smith, Gabe Davis, Zack Moss, and Reggie Gilliam.
Brian Daboll and Josh Allen have been spreading the ball around quite a bit at this early stage of the season. That becomes much more of an option when you have as much talent as they have accumulated who are occupying the opposing team’s defenders. This began last season, but the acquisition of Stefon Diggs this year clearly opens up other players simply by his presence.
Things we know about the Buffalo Bills this week:
– QB Josh Allen has started 30 games in the NFL accumulating 19 rushing TDs.
– Rookie A.J. Epenesa recorded his first sack taking Goff down on a scramble.
– Jordan Poyer had 10 solo tackles totaling a game-high 14 tackles.
