Buffalo Bills: Things We Know This Week

“You’re just looking for good players. Free agency is probably where you can say, ‘Hey, we’ll spend a little more here and we’ll fill this here.’ The draft is more of a long-term approach. You’re drafting a guy in the first round that you would hope you’re, at least, picking up their fifth-year option and you’ve got him for five years. So you’re not looking for a short-term fix.”Brandon Beane

Quality over quantity. McBeane needs to make the Buffalo Bills’ six draft picks this week count. Let’s make sure to find the best players available and trade back to potentially increase their number of picks. No room to be drafting any sort of “PUNT GOD” this year. No need for selecting a running back on day one or even day two of the festivities. Quality over quantity.

Do they trade back for more picks or trade up to pick that guy? If a blue chip player falls to them and it isn’t the position of need, do they take that running back out of Texas? Quality over quantity.

“We’re going to take the best player. We really are. There’s going to be a good player there.”Brandon Beane

Quality over quantity.

Things we know about the Buffalo Bills this week

The Bills signed kicker Tyler Bass to a four-year contract extension. Bass has drilled 83 of his 97 field goal tries thus far in his NFL career. He is extremely reliable, connecting on 156 of his 160 extra point attempts.

Damar Hamlin is in the Queen City taking part in voluntary offseason workouts as he has been cleared for all football activities. Wow. Double Wow.

Brandon Beane has indicated that the Bills have filled enough holes through free agency that selecting the best available player when they are on the clock is realistic.

ABC, ESPN, and NFL Network will be televising the draft.

  • Thursday 4/27: Round 1 starts at 8 pm.
  • Friday 4/28: Round 2 & 3 starts at 7 pm.
  • Saturday 4/29: Round 4-7 starts at noon.

The Carolina Panthers are set to be on the clock.

I am semi-retired leaving my enjoyable 24 year management career due to multiple health issues. My dad retired from The Buffalo News after 49 years. I have been an avid fan for quite some time. Got that Marv Levy Fight Song In My Head for absolutely no reason.
