The Buffalo Bills are making a strategic addition to their defensive line by signing veteran DL Austin Johnson. Johnson, an eight-year NFL veteran that brings a wealth of experience and versatility to the Bills’ front seven.
His ability to play across the defensive line makes him an invaluable rotational player. Especially after the departure of some key defensive pieces this offseason.
Johnson’s previously played for the Tennessee Titans, New York Giants, and most recently, the Los Angeles Chargers. Despite suffering a knee fracture and MCL injury in 2022, he bounced back to start all 17 games in the 2023 season. He showcased his resilience and commitment to the game.
At 6’4″ and 314 pounds, Johnson’s physicality and technique will be a huge boost for a Bills defense looking to improve its run defense and pass rush. His career stats, including 241 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, and 8 sacks, underscore his impact on the field.
