Buffalo Bills Predictions – Week 1

Published

on

Ok everyone, breathe. We made it. Week 1 of the NFL season is upon us, and it feels good. This first matchup is a fun one for the Buffalo Bills: the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Previously on Bills vs Steelers (Week 14, 2020)…

It was a cold December night in Buffalo. A football team with no name managed to end the Steelers’ undefeated season. Yet, they TikTok danced their way into Bills Stadium with a completely undeserved cockiness.

So, to pull off a 26-15 win against them was satisfying to say the least. It’s time for the Bills to show them who’s boss once again.

Prediction #1: Allen and the coin toss

The coin toss has not been kind to Josh Allen in the past. However, Allen has seen some improvement on that front last season and even in the preseason games.

He will win the coin toss vs the Steelers and start a streak of toss wins.

Prediction #2: Gregory Rousseau. That’s it.

Gregory Rousseau has done nothing but impress the entire offseason, so the fact that he made the 53-man roster comes as a surprise to absolutely no one. Now, he gets to show off during the regular season. He won’t start for the Bills, but he will see some play time. He’s going to put some serious pressure on Roethlisberger, especially with this new and improved D-Line.

Groot will record at least 2 tackles and, with that huge 83” wingspan, he’s going to limit Big Ben’s throwing angles.

Prediction #3: Gabriel Davis shows off

Gabriel Davis has used this offseason to hone his craft and really build on his raw rookie talent displayed last season. He’s managed to work his way into a core spot within a stacked Buffalo Bills WR pool. After his performance in the final preseason game, it’s clear he deserves it. He left the Packers secondary in the dust with his speed and fancy footwork.

Gabriel Davis will keep those chains moving and even see the endzone at least once. He’ll be an important piece in this Bills offense. In fact, he’ll solidify his place as WR2 on the team.

Prediction #4: Daboll shows his aggressiveness

This Buffalo Bills offense is ready to show that they’re back and better than ever. A newly extended MVP candidate QB, a reliable back up QB, incredibly talented WR depth, and, of course, Reggie Gilliam.

Daboll will want to show off what they’ve worked on, so expect to see some 4th down attempts. The Buffalo Bills aren’t here to simply play, they’re here to win. And what better way to prove that then to show fearlessness.

Prediction #5: Bills Mafia, the ultimate 12th Man

There are no fans quite like Bills Mafia. 15,000 for an open practice???? Unheard of. They are obsessed with Buffalo Bills football, and after not being allowed to attend the games last season, the Bills Mafia are ready for the home opener.

The fans at Highmark Stadium will scream, shout, and chant their way into flustering the Steelers. So much so, that Big Ben will have to resort to a silent count, possibly picking himself up a delay of game call; much like Jordan Love in the last preseason game.

Bills Mafia, never change.

Final

The Bills work hard to finish the half with a one touchdown lead. This gap is one that Pittsburgh just can’t seem to close, allowing Buffalo to come away with the win and start the season 1-0.

Much like Marty McFly, Trish Patel (aka Tyler Bass Enthusiast) is a time traveller who stole a sports almanac so as to fool you mortals into believing that she can predict the stats of a game. If you come at her on social media, there is an excellent chance you'll get burnt. They don't call her @savage_trish for nothing.
