Buffalo Bills: Madden Sim Week 6 Preview: Seahawks at Bills

The Buffalo Bills and Seattle Seahawks will face off in week 6 of the BF Madden Sim.

Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills (2-2) come back home to Buffalo to take on the Seattle Seahawks (2-3) in week 6 of the Buffalo Fanatics Madden Sim. After a disappointing loss to the Kanas City Chiefs last week, the Bills are looking to improve their record to 3-2 on Sunday. Here are five keys to Sunday’s game.

Get Josh Allen involved early and often

As I wrote in the recap after last week’s loss to the Chiefs, I pointed out that in the Bills two wins this season Josh Allen threw for over 400 yards. In their two losses, Allen threw for under 230 yards. When the passing game is featured in the offense and the running game is simply a complimentary piece, they score a lot of points and win. Brian Daboll needs to fully entrust Josh Allen not just in this game, but moving forward. However, Sunday’s game could a start in making Allen the centerpiece of the offense.

Back-to-back Sunday Night game

For the second consecutive game, the Bills will be under the lights on Sunday Night Football. It has been a long time since anyone could say that about the Buffalo Bills. Once again they have to play a very good team on Sunday Night Football. The Seahawks are used to playing in prime time, unlike the Bills who normally have had only had a game or two per season on prime time. Will the lights be too bright for the Bills or will they play at a high level at home?

Keep Russell Wilson in the pocket

One of the best improvisational quarterbacks in the NFL over the past several season has been Russell Wilson. Few are as good as Wilson at keeping the play alive and scrambling around. It will be very important for the Bills defense to contain Wilson in the pocket and prevent him from making electric plays with his feet. It’s a tough task for anyone to do. However, after having a rough game against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense, the Bills defense should be eager to show the nation how good they truly are.

Stop the run

It was a major issue last game against Kansas City and will need to be a huge focus this week, the Bills need to stop the run. Seahawks Running Back Chris Carson has had a very good start to the season. Through five games he has 416 yards, three touchdowns and is averaging an impressive 4.8 yards per attempt. Seattle has always been a run first team and the Bills need to make sure that they’re ready for the Seahawks strong rushing attack.

Tremaine Edmunds vs. Greg Olsen

Last week Tremaine Edmunds has his hands full with Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce. This week he faces yet another good tight end in Greg Olsen. Olsen is a much older player who is far past his prime. However, he is having a good season with the Seahawks and is their leading receiver with 29 receptions for 374 yards. Bills fans should hope that Edmunds has a much better game. Especially considering that Sean McDermott should have plenty of knowledge on Olsen’s game and tendencies.

It will be a physical game between two teams that play good defense, run the ball, and have big play quarterbacks. Ultimately, it will come down to two factors: 1) home field advantage 2) cross-country trip. Those two factors will be the difference in this game.

Prediction: Bills: 23 Seahawks: 17
