Buffalo Bills Game Day Playlist Week 4 vs. Texans

Published

on

The Buffalo Bills will be welcoming a familiar foe this week as the Houston Texans will be making the trip up to Western New York. In this playlist I include artists from Houston, as well as songs that depict story lines currently happening. Whether that be the state of the Texans roster, or Stefon Diggs’ innate ability to steal women from famous people. Anyways, let’s get into the first song.

Nas – The World Is Yours

Nas’ Illmatic is heralded as one of the greatest hip-hop/rap albums of all-time and The World Is Yours was a staple of this album. Following two blowout wins for the Bills, the world is in their palms, all for the taking.

Pac Div – Players of the Year

Some underground rap for y’all, Pac Div is a rap quartet from Southern Cali. This song represents Josh Allen and Matt Milano. Player of the Year candidates on both sides of the ball, in my opinion.

Westside Gunn & Joey Bada$$ (ft. Tyler, the Creator) – 327

Have to include one of the Buffalo Boys on this playlist, it’s a rule at this point. Anyways, the whispery intro to this song sounds like a pre-game speech by one of the captains. Plus, Westside, Joey & Tyler all on the same track is a blessing.

Travis Scott (ft. ScHoolboy Q) – Ok Alright

Travis Scott has turned into the biggest Houston artist since Beyonce, but I wanna take it back to 2015, before Trav’s fame. This song is an awesome hype up joint that deals with the idea of conquering (whatever) no matter what. Mentality of “Okay, Okay” we can deal with this.

Travis Scott – BUTTERFLY EFFECT

It’s Houston week so there’s gonna be a lot of Travis Scott on this playlist. Butterfly Effect comes off of Travis’ biggest project to date: Astroworld. This song might not be the most popular, but I think it gives the best impression of Scott as an artist. Ethereal, fun lyrics, and a sick, sick beat.

Destiny’s Child – Bills, Bills, Bills

Who would’ve thought Houston’s most dynamic quartet made a song about the Buffalo Bills? Not me. Oh wait. It’s about baby daddy’s giving them money? Same thing I guess.

Maxo Kream (ft. Tyler the Creator) – Big Persona

This song just came out and Houston native Maxo Kream goes crazy with his patented gnarly voice. This song is all about flexing, big dreaming, big women, big money, etc. Exactly the vibe from the Bills through week 3.

Drake & Future – Desires

The Toxic Men Duo of Drake and Future teamed up on this track off of Scorpion to talk about a girl from Houston, TX. They talk about her desires to see them, much like the Bills’ desire to blowout the team that sent them home in the 2019 playoffs.

BROCKHAMPTON – SWEET

A massive hip-hop posse from San Marcos, TX, BROCKHAMPTON talks about their life growing up in Texas. It’s essentially just a shout-out track about everything dealing with Texas. Whataburger, the Woodlands and Zaxby’s all get shoutouts. One of my favorite lyrics of this song is “Tryna see if Beyonce will take me up for adoption”, which will be Stefon Diggs’ mission following a dub against the Texans.

ScHoolboy Q – Lord Have Mercy

The Buffalo Bills open up as 16.5 favorites against the depleted Texans. So, while it’s usually Bills by a Billion, have some mercy this Sunday, and let Houston keep their dignity amidst a dumpster-fire season.
