BREAKING: Bills active Dawson Knox from IR

The Buffalo Bills officially activated TE Dawson Knox from Injured Reserve, and released LB AJ Klein to make room. This paves the way for Knox to return this week against the Kansas City Chiefs, who have a plethora of injuries to their defense.

Knox was dealing with a wrist injury prior to and during their Week 7 loss to the New England Patriots. After that game, he opted to get surgery and the team placed him on IR. In his seven games, Knox has 15 receptions for 102 yards and one TD. Four of his receptions came in the red zone.

It remains to be seen if the Bills go back to more two TE sets, and how that will look under a new OC. Under Ken Dorsey, the Bills TE duo didn’t produce much in that formation. Now, in an offense that has been clicking lately but still lacks a No. 2 pass-catcher, the Bills may be able to find more success.

During his press conference earlier this week, HC Sean McDermott said Knox has a good chance of playing Sunday.

Dawson Knox said this after practicing this week:

“Got some great time to get the legs back ready… Wrist feels great – big shoutout to the strength staff and training staff here, just put in the hours, put in the extra time. But just thankful to be back with the team. Those weeks on IR can be long.”

CB Kaiir Elam’s 21-day window was also opened this week. Elam has been dealing with an ankle injury since training camp. However, he wasn’t activated before today’s 4:00 PM deadline. Another thing to note, with a relatively healthy week of practice (*knock on wood*), the Bills did not elevate anybody from the practice squad.
