Well we’re getting deep into the regular season, with the Buffalo Bills needing a win this week over the Miami Dolphins to clinch a playoff birth. The Bills are two games ahead of the Miami Dolphins in the standings and, with four games to go, they need this win to clinch the AFC East title over Miami. AFC East Standings
Buffalo Bills
- The Bills brought back a familiar face this week, signing WR Cole Beasley to their practice squad. To make room for Beasley, the team released WR Marquez Stevenson.
- The Bills also signed DT Brandin Bryant to the active roster and released DT CJ Brewer.
- A few Buffalo players missed practice Wednesday: LB Matt Milano, OL Ryan Bates, OL Rodger Saffold, and DT Jordan Phillips. Bates and Phillips have already been ruled out this week.
- OL Ike Boettger’s 21-day practice window ends this week. HC Sean McDermott didn’t rule out activating him for Saturday’s game.
Miami Dolphins
- Star CB Byron Jones isn’t likely to play this season. He had off-season leg surgery and spent this season on the PUP list.
- The Dolphins signed two players to the practice squad early on Wednesday: WR DaeSean Hamilton and CB Ka’dar Hollman.
- The Denver Broncos signed WR Freddie Swain from Miami’s practice squad.
New York Jets
- The Jets announced they are making a change at QB, making Zach Wilson the new QB2. Mike White is still expected to start.
- DT Quinnen Williams and DE John Franklin-Myers didn’t practice Wednesday.
New England Patriots
- The NFL is reviewing an incident involving WR DeVante Parker last week, where he looked to have suffered a concussion and the referees failed to remove him from the field.
- The Patriots had four players miss Wednesday’s practice, including CB Jack Jones, OL Isaiah Wynn, RB Rhamondre Stevenson, and WR DeVante Parker.
- The Patriots signed rookie LS Tucker Addington to their practice squad. LS Joe Cardona was added to the injury report with an ankle injury.
