2022 NFL Season Futures Bets

Published

on

The 2022 NFL season is here and it’s time to start thinking about futures bets. Who’s going to win the MVP? Which teams are going to win their division? There are so many more fun bets like player yard totals and touchdowns, but that’s for next week. This week will be focused on Super Bowl winners, the MVP race, and division winners. (All odds according to Caesars Sportsbook.)

Super Bowl Bets

Buffalo Bills (+600)

The Bills are the betting favorites to win the Super Bowl this year and this is a crazy thing to see as a Bills fan, but it’s well deserved. The Bills have an MVP front runner in Josh Allen with a lot of weapons on offense and a great defense to go along with it. This might be the year it finally happens.

Los Angles Chargers (+1500)

The Chargers have a lot of talent on this team, including a great young QB in Justin Herbert and a great receiving core and running backs for him to throw to. They added Khalil Mack to rush off the edge along side Joey Bosa and more depth in the secondary with the J.C. Jackson signing. They are going to be a scary team to play this year and have a good shot to win it all.

Los Angeles Rams (+1200)

The reigning Super Bowl champions still have their core players: Ramsey, Donald, Kupp, and Stafford. They added Allen Robinson to further bolster their WR core, and added one of the NFL’s smartest linebackers, Bobby Wagner, to run the middle of their defense. This is still a very good team and they have a chance to go back to back. However, in my opinion, they are the least likely of these three options.

MVP Odds

Josh Allen (+650)

Allen has continued to get better since his 2020 breakout. He has more weapons this year and a better overall team behind him, in my opinion. These should all lead to him winning the MVP award. If he can continue what he did at the end of last season, there is no doubt in my mind that Allen will be holding up that MVP trophy at the end of the year.

Derrick Henry (+4000)

Henry seems to keep getting it done every year without fail. This year, with no A.J. Brown catching passes for the Titans, I could see Henry getting a lot more touches and a lot more yards this year. If he stays healthy all year, this bet has great value.

Division Winner Bets

AFC East: Bills (-225)

There isn’t really much to say here. The Bills are a surefire bet to dominate the division this year.

AFC North: Bengals (+180)

People view the Bengals’ 2021 season as a fluke and don’t believe they can keep that up. But they are pretty much the same team as last year and most of the teams in the AFC North got worse. The Steelers lost their QB and don’t know who their starter is yet and the Ravens lost their best receiver in Hollywood Brown. You can bet on the Bengals to handle this division again.

AFC South: Colts (-120)

In my opinion, the Colts upgraded at QB this offseason, acquiring Matt Ryan for a third round pick. They will still have the same run game as last year with Jonathan Taylor. Their only real competition is the Titans, who got worse by losing A.J. Brown.

AFC West: Chargers (+240)

Like stated earlier, the Chargers got significantly better this offseason on defense to pair with an already potent offense. The Chiefs lost Tyreek Hill and some key pieces on defense; they are not the same team anymore. The Broncos lost Tim Patrick to a torn ACL and that is huge because the Broncos’ WR depth isn’t really there. The Raiders worry me because they got a lot better, adding Davante Adams on offense and Chandler Jones on defense. I bet they probably split the two games they play, but the Chargers end up with a better record.

NFC North: Vikings (+280)

The Vikings already have a great offense with Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen, and Dalvin Cook. They also should improve on defense, after a flurry of acquisitions this offseason. The Packers, meanwhile, lost Za’Darius Smith (to the Vikings) and lost their best receiver (Davante Adams) to the Raiders. They are still going to be a good team, but I think the Vikings are now slightly better. The Lions are a tough team just because they play their hearts out every game, but the Vikings should win both games. The Bears are in a rebuild right now and should be no threat.

NFC East: Eagles (+170)

The Eagles had a great offseason, adding A.J. Brown and drafting Jordan Davis. Brown is going to help Jalen Hurts out significantly in the passing game, which should compliment their effective running game from the end of last season. The Commanders and Giants pose no real threat in this division, so it’s down to just the Cowboys, who lost WR Amari Cooper and DE Randy Gregory. Personally, I bet that the Eagles are going to have a great year, winning between 9-12 games and the NFC East.

NFC West: Rams (+125)

The Seahawks got significantly worse this year by losing Russell Wilson. The Cardinals will have to play without DeAndre Hopkins for six games and they seem to consistently fall apart after Week 8 or 9. Finally, the 49ers are a good team but they don’t know what they have in starting QB Trey Lance. I’ll take the Rams to win this division.

NFC South: Saints (+350)

The Saints got Jameis Winston and Michael Thomas back. They added two wideouts in highly-touted rookie Chris Olave and veteran Jarvis Landry. While he’s suspended the first six games, Alvin Kamara is still a game-changer in the backfield. They also added Tyrann Mathieu to an already top-five NFL defense. The Falcons and Panthers are no real threat for New Orleans. Additionally, they shouldn’t have an issue with Tampa Bay. The Saints have won every regular season matchup against the Tom Brady-led Bucs. Even if they split with Tampa, they have an easier schedule. I bet they win the NFC South.

The paragraph: The 2022 NFL season is here and it’s time to start thinking about futures bets. Who’s going to win the MVP? Which teams are going to win their division? To do this you should carefully go over the available casino bonus offers and look for specific promotions. Any bonus that comes with low or no wagering requirements is a good choice, so long as you are allowed to use it for betting.
