2022 Buffalo Bills Kickoff Playlist

Here we are, hours away from the immaculate conception. After two years of Super Bowl-worthy seasons, the Buffalo Bills will start their ascent to the glorious mountain in the 2022 kickoff game against the defending Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams. I’m here to set the tone, so here’s 10 songs to listen to leading up to the 8:20 pm kickoff.

1.) “Bulls on Parade” – Rage Against the Machine

An absolutely disgusting riff slams listeners back into their Zubaz undies. Rage Against the Machine’s “Bulls on Parade” should be renamed“Bills on Parade” following a viral video from @MrProfessor318. Bright red Bills tee, head-banging on 100. Nothing could match that energy. So grab whatever is closest to you and hurl it into a wall, the Bad News Bills are about to frighten the nation.

2.) “Wake Me Up When September Ends” – Green Day

“Summer has come and past…” The off-season is finally over, yet us Bills fans are stuck in a limbo phase. This team is too talented to be over-worried about early September games, so let me know when it’s over. I’ll be waiting for February.

3.) “With a Little Luck” – Paul McCartney & Wings

“With a little luck we can make this whole damn thing work out.” This Buffalo Bills roster, coaching staff, and fan base are completely prepared to win the Lombardi this year; it quite literally comes down to luck. Last year’s #1 defense added Von Miller. Josh Allen has four elite receiving weapons. The secondary seems like that of a dream. It’ll simply come down to the football gods.

4.) “Brand New Day” – Sting

Sting, a devout Rams fan, speaks clear on this track what it means to forget about the past and “turn the clock back to zero”. Last season was last season. 13 seconds in the past. Also, that harmonica is just beautiful.

5.) “Californiacation” – Red Hot Chili Peppers

The allure of Los Angeles brings Buffalo to the home of the champions to kick off the 2022 season. “The edge of the world” will face the opposite coast and, funnily enough, this could end up being the Super Bowl game come February. We can dream of playing the Rams again later this year.

6.) “Upside Down!” – Jones Kimari-Willis

Maybe a slightly shameful plug, but my brother’s debut single represents the individual moments of games like this perfectly. Listen to that tempo, that true feeling. In the split seconds Allen scores, Hyde intercepts, Singletary cuts, this sick melancholy-esque song plays in their heads.

7.) “Guerrero” – Benny the Butcher & Westside Gunn

Two titans of Buffalo rap absolutely lose their minds on this 2022 track. The Griselda stars have helped put Buffalo on the map, along with their talented football squad. There are a ton of amazing bars on this song and its grungy, soup-water type beat will put a dirty face on any listener. “Go Bills!” – Benny, probably.

8.) “N95” – Kendrick Lamar

Kendrick Lamar is easily the biggest name in the Los Angeles rap game. It’s been like that for the past 10 years, and maybe for the next 10. His career goes hand-in-hand with Aaron Donald, a player so good that he could “take off” and wreck a team’s entire gameplan. Listen to this new Kendrick hit and hope Donald stays under three sacks on the game.

9.) “I Just Wanna Party” – YG, ScHoolboy Q, & Jay Rock

YG may actually be the only devout, loyal, long-time Rams fan. In ode to him, here’s a good party song to get the blood boiling right before kickoff.

10.) “Lay Low” – Snoop Dogg, Master P, Nate Dogg, Butch Cassidy, & Tha Eastsidaz

Another LA mogul, Snoop Dogg has been dominating the rap scene since the Rams were in LA the first time. This is an all-time hood-classic, Snoop’s flow reminds me a lot of how Allen plays. Nasty, collected, on-time. The Rams must not “lay low”, for Allen will hurdle them, score, and “refuse to lose no matter which road he choose”.
