On Wednesday afternoon, the Buffalo Bills announced that they have signed DE/LB Eli Harold to a one-year deal. Harold is the 12th free agent signing by the Bills during this very busy offseason for Bills General Manager Brandon Beane.
Harold comes over from the Detroit Lions after being traded from the San Francisco 49ers in August of 2018. Harold has 94 tackles, 9 sacks, a forced fumble, and 2 fumble recoveries throughout his five-year career. He finished this season with an average 58.6 PFF grade.
Harold is now the fifth defensive end on the Bills roster, joining Jerry Hughes, Shaq Lawson, Trent Murphy, and Eddie Yarbrough. There’s even a possibility that the Bills may also another another defensive end with the upcoming draft.
Harold is also known for kneeling during the national anthem with former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, which became a national headline in 2016.
