Patriots Tight End Rob Gronkowski Announces Retirement

It was reported on Sunday night that New England Patriots star tight end and Williamsville, New York native Rob Gronkowski has announced his retirement from the NFL. Gronkowski has finally made his decision after years of contemplating.

Since being selected in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft, Grownkowski has been a wrecking force in the league and a favorite target of Tom Brady. He is a five-time Pro Bowler, a four-time first-team All-Pro, and a three-time Super Bowl champion. Although he has had his success, he is well known for constantly battling injuries. He’s dealt with a torn ACL, a torn MCL, a fractured forearm, chest lung bruise, and a herniated disk throughout his eight-year career.

Although he may be a native of New York, Gronkowski has not had the best reputation since joining the AFC East rivals. He is notoriously known not only for putting up big numbers on the Bills or making stunning plays, but for a cheap shot on Buffalo Bills cornerback Tredavious White and also “Gronk Spiking” a Buffalo Bills hat at his friend’s wedding.

Gronkowski will be missed dearly by the Patriots fans, this may be considered a “blessing” to Bills fans as now there is one less target for Brady to throw to.
